CompTIA Security
+ Certification Boot Camp
CompTIA Security+ and the US Department of Defense:
In 2004, the US Department of Defense (DoD) established
Directive 8570.1: Information Assurance Training, Certification
and Workforce Management. It requires that all DoD Information
Assurance technicians and managers are trained and certified.
CompTIA Security+ is an approved certification that
meets DoD requirements.
This directive calls upon the federal government and
DOD agencies to demonstrate and prove that personnel
are IT security competent via IT certifications and
annual metrics reporting of their workforce on IT security
related skills.
These skill-based certification programs are aimed
at government personnel who come into contact with and/or
administer secure government IT systems and/or intranet-related
services within the federal government agencies and
the Department of Defense.
Security is essential to every business and organization.
Security breaches lead to data theft, loss of productivity
and decreased profits. Certification has become the
method for verification of an employee's skill. Getting
your security certification shows employers you have
the skills they need.
CompTIA Security + Overview:
Security+, a CompTIA Certification is the primary course
